XFL – National Anthem Note, Shayna Baszler Calls Out Critics, Zayn Shows Sympathy, Bliss Talks WWE Rise (Videos)

As noted, moments ago Vince McMahon completed a conference call to announce the return of the XFL in 2020.

Of note in the call were several instances of the media asking Vince whether or not it will be mandated that all players stand for the National Anthem before games. Vince did not answer the question outright, and he also did not directly answer whether or not the Anthem will even be played at games. He did say, however, that the Anthemis a “time-honored tradition” and that players will have to abide by XFL rules, whatever those might end up being.

Vince says the National Anthem is a time-honored tradition, and whatever the rules of the #XFL are, players and employees will abide by the rules. At the end of the day, everyone’s job is to play football.
