Finn Balor went one on one once again with the “Constable” of Monday Night Raw Baron Corbin, and some fans were surprised to see Corbin defeat Balor right in the middle of the ring with an End of Days. It was undoubtedly a big win for the former Money in the Bank match winner, but it now appears that the company may have decided to have Corbin go over in the match for one very specific reason. The latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio claims that WWE is planning on having Corbin face Roman Reigns in a singles match on Raw next week. WWE feels that Corbin defeating Balor clean this week will make him look stronger as he heads into his match against Roman in the near future.
A few weeks ago, Smackdown General Manager Paige announced that there would be a 4-team tournament on Smackdown that will see each of the teams compete in order to determine who will face The Bludgeon Brothers for the Smackdown Tag Team Championships at SummerSlam. The New Day already defeated SAnitY on last week’s edition of the show, which meant that this week’s show would feature a match between The Bar and The Usos. Sheamus and Cesaro defeated the brothers to earn a spot in the finals of the tournament. The New Day and The Bar had a stare-down in the ring after the match ended. They will be competing against each other during next week’s episode of the show.

Brock Lesnar returned to WWE programming during Monday Night Raw earlier this week for the first time in several months. There was a segment during the show that saw Lesnar admit that he does not watch Raw at all, which perplexed some fans, but according to the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, that is likely a legitimate claim from the Universal Champion. It was mentioned that Lesnar rarely even watches TV at all, and when his friends in UFC have a fight, Lesnar even has an associate call him when their fights are on as he does not watch the full shows. Although the comment was also intended to get more heat on Lesnar as he heads into SummerSlam, it is also likely true that he does not watch Raw.
