It was previously reported that WWE has filed a trademark for Dr. Shelby, who is the therapist who is working with Sasha Banks and Bayley as part of their storyline. The assumption is that with filing for the trademark at the end of June, Shelby will be around on WWE TV for at least the foreseeable future.
According to Dave Meltzer in a recent edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, someone came up with the idea of reuniting Team Hell No (Daniel Bryan & Kane) and that led to bringing back Dr. Shelby as he is the same guy who was involved in the counseling skits with the tag team years ago. Dr. Shelby made three appearances during his first run with WWE and appeared at the RAW 20th Anniversary as well.
Dr. Shelby is played by actor Michael Aspinwall. Aspinwall has a few credits on IMDB, but his most recognizable role is Dr. Shelby. He was in a TV show pilot this year called Stupid Cupid about three friends who want to create a dating app so they band together and explore their previous bad dates in an attempt to understand how love works.
