Mustafa Ali is the newest addition to WWE SmackDown Live. The former WWE Cruiserweight champion recently talked about the move on Twitter, where he spoke very highly of his former brand.
205 Live was the jumping off point for Ali, who was one of the hottest stars on the program. His wars with Buddy Murphy and Cedric Alexander became instant classics for many WWE fans. Indeed, Ali found his way within WWE thanks to his time on 205 Live.
Now Ali is on the blue brand and many feel that big things are ahead of him. But his run on SmackDown is perhaps off to somewhat of a rocky start however, thanks to his finisher.
Ali tagged with AJ Styles against Daniel Bryan and Andrade “Cien” Almas on the December 18 edition of SmackDown Live. The match was over with the crowd and all four men were on point, but it was the ending that took many fans by surprise.
Mustafa’s top rope 054 finish on Bryan went awry when his knee struck the WWE champion in the head. Ali scored the pin after hitting the move, shocking the WWE Universe in the process. Recent reports indicate that Bryan seems to be okay, so hopefully Ali’s rough landing does not reflect poorly on the new SmackDown Live Superstar.
@WWE205Live took me to #WrestleMania. It took me to #SurvivorSeries. And now, it takes me to #SDLive.
