AZS Olsztyn play better and better game

Match between AZS Olsztyn and Delecta Bydgoszcz was the most exciting meeting in whole 12th round. Kielce surprised Jastrzebie. Belchatow is still on the top of the Plusliga, Czestochowa second.

Hosts from Olsztyn were strongly determined and started with offensive service and block. They dominated first set by winning 25:16. Next sets were not so easy. Delecta Bydgoszcz was planning to get three points from this meeting, so they started to play more focused and aggressive. After three sets, guest were leading 2:1, but AZS did not give up and they fought to the end. Tie break was not lucky for Cretu’s team. In this game, two of AZS players (Gunia and Tuia) got injured. Finally, Delecta Bydgoszcz won this long tie break 20:18 and the whole match 3:2.  MVP was Dawid Konarski from Delecta, but it was an impressive performance of Marcel Gromadowski, who scored 34 points.

The game with AZS Warszawa was another failure of Zaksa Kedzierzyn. Unfortunately, the big mistake of main referee was one of the elements of final result. Pawel Zagumny did not hide his anger. “We feel cheated by the arbiters” – he said. Players of Zaksa made a lot of mistakes and they could not “catch” their effective attack. It seems that after injury of Sebastian Swiderski, Krzysztof Stelmach’s team is playing under expectations. However, they are on a 4th place in schedule, so everything is still possible. Situation of AZS Warszawa is different. They won another three points, but they are on a 5th place anyway. MVP of this match was Maikel Salas.

AZS Czestochowa is keeping their great form. They are still the second team of PlusLiga. This time, they overcame Pamapol Wielun 3:0 without any big problems. AZS was leading from the beginning of the first set, scoring four points in a row (great service of Gierczynski was very helpful). Wielun made mistakes in all three sets. They was ambicious, but not dangerous for Czestochowa. MVP was again Krzysztof Gierczynski, who scored 15 points for his team.

Big suprise in Kielce. Still “new” team in PlusLiga beat current vice-champion of Poland, Jastrzebski Wegiel. This is not very lucky season for Jastrzebie. They dissapoint their fans both at PlusLiga and Champions League. After leaving Abramov, Czarnowski and Santilli, they can not show their previous quality of game. Resignation of head coach Prielozny have not brought results yet. Fart Kielce gave better performance and they have another three points. MVP was Maciej Dobrowolski, the setter of Fart.

12th round of PlusLiga also includes match between Skra and Resovia but this game has been postponed becouse of the Club World Championships in Quatar.
